Brendan Rodgers considering new vice-captai
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he is weighing up his options ahead of naming a new vice-captain at the club.
The Reds are skippered by Steven Gerrard, but the deputy, Jamie Carragher, retired at the end of the last season and Rodgers has said that he is giving the matter some thought.
"The captain and vice-captain is a very important position here at the football club, on and off the field," Rodgers told the club's official website.
"We've got a number of players that I'm looking at and assessing before I'll make that decision at the end of pre-season. I haven't made it yet, there are a few people that I am looking at."
